We must take care of our parents until alive, says Minister Zahid

DHAKA, May 11, (BSS) - Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister AZM Zahid Hossain today urged all to take care of parents and buy time for them in spite busy schedules.

"As long as we are alive, we must take care of our parents and create opportunities within our busy work schedules to ensure their service and care," he said.

The minister said this at a prayer gathering in memory of his late mother Begum Jebunnesa, held at the Department of Social Services in Agargaon here.

The Ministry of Social Welfare and the Department of Social Services organized the prayers.

Speaking at the event, Social Welfare Secretary Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf said Begum Jebunnesa was a dedicated educator.

"She educated many students with her knowledge and competence, many of whom are now contributing significantly to the state and society," he said.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare Md. Kamal Uddin, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Shabnam Mostari, and Director General of the Department of Social Services Shah Mohammad Mahbub also spoke at the prayer and remembrance event, paying tribute to the deceased.

The programme concluded with a special prayer seeking eternal peace for the departed soul.
