CHITTAGONG UNIVERSITY, May 5, 2026 (BSS) - The Chittagong University (CU) Research and Publication Cell conducted a day-long research workshop at the Faculty of Business Administration's conference room today.
CU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest. Special guests included Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shamim Uddin Khan and Dean of the Business Administration Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman.
Prof. Mohammad Al-Forkan said, "One of the main duties of a university teacher is to conduct research. Research is a major means of establishing oneself as an academic. Therefore, teachers must be attentive to research."
"The reputation and prestige of a university depend on the research work of its teachers. Research must be of high quality and beneficial to society. I hope this workshop will make teachers more skilled and interested in research," he added.
In his remarks, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shamim Uddin Khan said, "As teachers, our principal responsibilities are teaching and research. The role of a university is to generate new knowledge through research. For this, we must focus on research and devote time to our departments."
The workshop was moderated by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Alamgir, Chairman of the Marketing Department, and the session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tanvir Mohammad Hayder Arif, Director of the Research and Publication Cell.
Following the inaugural session, the workshop continued with three segments. Among them, "Current Activities and Future Plans of the Research and Publication Cell" session was conducted by Prof. Dr. Tanvir Mohammad Hayder Arif.
The "Research Proposal" session was conducted by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shamim Uddin Khan, and the "Report Writing" session was conducted by Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, Chairman of the Marketing Department.
