KHULNA, April 23, 2026 (BSS) - Prof Mohammad Abu Yousuf of the Department of Chemistry at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) has taken over as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Humanities for a two-year term.

He assumed the responsibility this morning, according to a press release issued by the university's Public Relations, Information and Publication Division today.

The appointment was made following a decision at the 108th syndicate meeting under Section 23(5) of the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Act, 2003, the release said.

Heads of different departments under the faculty were present at the programme. They congratulated the new dean and expressed hope for further development in education and research under his leadership.

After assuming office, Prof Abu Yousuf sought cooperation and prayers from all to advance the university's academic and administrative activities.

Earlier, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Head of the Department of Chemistry on several occasions, and also held responsibilities including provost of residential halls.
