RAJSHAHI, April 23, 2026 (BSS)- Three teachers and 10 students of the Social Science Faculty of Rajshahi University (RU) have received the 2025 Dean’s Award. 

This is the first time the award has been conferred.

 At a ceremony held today in the Senate Building, Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Faridul Islam attended as chief guest, and presented the awards to the teachers and students.
 The event was presided over by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Farid Uddin Khan, who is in charge of Dean of the Social Science Faculty. 
Special guests included Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Main Uddin, former Vice-Chancellor and former Dean of the Faculty Professor Muhammad Mizanuddin, and former Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University, Kushtia, Professor Rafiqul Islam. 

Professor Golam Kibria Ferdous, Chairman of the Department of Social Work, delivered the welcome address.
 
Award-winning Teachers for Best Article: Md. Arman Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of Information Science and Library Management; Best Book: Dr. Awal Hossain Molla, Professor, Department of Public Administration and Best Researcher: Dr. Pranab Kumar Panday, Professor, Department of Public Administration.

The students received the award for securing the top position in their department in the Bachelor’s (Honours) examination.

They are: Mst. Nafisa Yasmin (Economics), Barsha Rani Mondal (Political Science), Antara (Social Work), Sanzida Farzana (Sociology), Rifah Rafia Bari (Mass Communication and Journalism, Razia Sultana Parul (Information and Communication), Momtaz Farzana Tithi (Public Administration), Jannatul Mawa Shin (Anthropology), Trisha Das (Folklore and Social Development Studies) and Ashraful Khan Foysal (International Relations).

Congratulating the award recipients, the Vice-Chancellor said this award not only recognizes their merit but also honours their teachers and families, and brings honour to the university as a whole. 

He expressed hope that these teachers and students will continue to pursue excellence through their intellect and creativity and move toward even greater achievements in future.

Chairpersons, teachers, and students from departments under the faculty were present at the event.
