Bangladesh, Guinea agree to boost agricultural cooperation

DHAKA, April 21, 2026 (BSS)– Bangladesh and Guinea today agreed to enhance cooperation in agriculture, particularly in contract farming, alongside expanding trade and investment ties during a bilateral meeting held in Dakar.

The discussion was made when State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam met Guinea’s Foreign Minister Morissanda Kouyaté on the sidelines of the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa in Senegal, said a foreign ministry’s press release here. 

During the meeting, both sides emphasised strengthening collaboration in agriculture through contract farming initiatives and promoting business-to-business exchanges to boost trade and investment.

They also identified mineral resources, garments and textiles, and pharmaceuticals as promising areas for future cooperation.
