DHAKA, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - The first day of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations was passed today with a fair, cheating-free and positive atmosphere.
Following the exams, Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon expressed satisfaction with the performance of education officials, the government’s field administration, and the overall management by the education boards.
The examinations were conducted simultaneously from 10am to 1pm.
On the first day, examinations were held in Bangla (Compulsory) First Paper under the general education boards, Quran Majeed and Tajweed under the madrasa boards, and Bangla Second Paper under the technical boards.
The Education Minister made surprise visits to five examination centres in Mirpur in the capital and in the Singair area of Manikganj district, adjacent to Dhaka.
The centres are Tentuljhora High School, Joymantop High School and Sahrail High School Centre in Singair upazila of Manikganj, as well as Mirpur Mofid-e-Am School in Amin Bazar in the capital and Model Academy Centre in Paikpara.
After the inspection, the Education Minister told reporters, “In today’s examination, the district administration, police, education field administration and the community have all cooperated fully.”
According to the latest statistics from the education boards, a total of 1,857,344 candidates are participating in the examinations under 11 education boards this year. Of them, 930,305 are male and 927,039 are female.
For the first time, CCTV cameras have been installed at each centre to ensure that the examinations are conducted in a fair, cheating-free and positive atmosphere.
The education boards have taken a series of modern security measures, including ‘digital tracking’ in the transportation of question papers.
