Chinese envoy calls on PM's adviser on agriculture

DHAKA, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Yao Wen today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister's Adviser on Politics and Agriculture Nazrul Islam Khan at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in the city's Tejgaon area.

During the meeting, they discussed different issues related to mutual interest between Bangladesh and China, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony said.

They also held detailed discussions on modern agricultural technology, afforestation activities for environmental protection, and skill development programmes in the education sector.

Prime Minister's Adviser Nazrul Islam Khan sought more active cooperation from China in these sectors.

The Chinese ambassador also assured that cooperation in various development sectors in Bangladesh would continue.

Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Li Shaopeng was present at the meeting, among others.
