DHAKA, April 17, 2026 (BSS) - The National Moon Sighting Committee will meet tomorrow at 6:30 pm at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram here.
 
The meeting has been convened to fix the date of the holy month of Zilqad for the year 1447 Hijri.
 
Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain Kaikobad will preside over the meeting.
 
The Islamic Foundation has requested that if the moon of Zilqad is sighted anywhere in the sky of Bangladesh, the information should be conveyed to the following telephone numbers: 02-41053294, 02-226640510 and 02-223383397.
 
The sighting information may also be reported to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the respective district or the concerned Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
