31 KUET teachers receive Vice-Chancellor Award

KHULNA, Apr 16, 2026 (BSS) – A total of 31 teachers of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) have been awarded the ‘Vice-Chancellor Award-2024’ in recognition of their research publications in high-impact international journals.

According to university sources, the awards were conferred following evaluation by expert panels of the respective faculties and on the recommendation of the Committee for Advanced Studies and Research (CASR), based on research papers published in 2024.

KUET Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Muhammad Masud handed over the awards to the recipients as the chief guest at a ceremony held at the university auditorium this afternoon.

Speaking on the occasion, the VC said, “Research is the lifeblood of a university. The true standard of a university is determined by the quality of its research, innovation capacity and continuity in knowledge creation.”

He added that publications in high-impact international journals are not only personal achievements but also bring pride to the university and the country.

Emphasising the need for more practical and timely research, he urged teachers to focus on patent generation alongside academic publications.

He also stressed involving students in research activities to build a knowledge-based society.
Professor Dr Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Director of the Directorate of Research and Extension, presided over the ceremony.

Among others, deans of different faculties, including Professor Dr Muhammad Harunur Rashid, Professor Dr Md Abdur Rafiq, Professor Dr Mohammad Sultan Mahmud, and Professor Dr Abdur Rakib Mohammad Jalal Uddin Jamali, were present.
