DHAKA, April 15, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 44
fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded 44 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the 24 hours ending at 8
am today," a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
"Out of the 44 fresh cases, 16 were hospitalised in Barishal division, five
in Chattogram division, two in Dhaka division, three in Dhaka North City
Corporation (DNCC), one in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), five in
Khulna division, one in Mymensingh division, nine in Rangpur division and two
in Sylhet division, according to a DGHS statement.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh, this year claimed four
lives and inflicted 2,154 people.
Last year, the mosquito-borne disease [dengue] claimed 413 lives and
inflicted 1,02,861 people across the country.
Besides, it claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
