DHAKA, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of renowned journalist ASM Habibullah.

In a message of condolence, the information minister recalled his contribution to journalism that brought for him great honour in the community.

"In his death, the country has lost a committed and professional journalist," he said.
 
Swapon also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

ASM Habibulla died of old-age complications at his Mymensingh residence today at the age of 91.
