Moyeen Khan hosts dinner for diplomats, including US envoy

DHAKA, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan has hosted a dinner in honour of United States Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen and his spouse at his residence in Gulshan here. 

The dinner, held at around 7:30 pm on Friday, was attended by ambassadors from seven countries, including the United States, India, Japan, Nepal, Italy and Norway, along with the British High Commissioner and representatives from other countries.

Brent T. Christensen was accompanied by the Political Counselor of the US Embassy in Dhaka. The US envoy assumed office in January this year. 

Leading industrialists, including PRAN-RFL Group Chairman Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Ha-Meem Group Chairman MD Abul Kalam Azad and Elite Paint Group Chairman Ramjul Seraj, also attended the event.

Speaking to BSS after the dinner, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan said the diplomats held wide-ranging discussions on Bangladesh's overall situation, including the economy, foreign relations, developments in the Middle East, global energy issues, as well as democracy, development and investment prospects.

He said the talks also covered the country's economic challenges, investment climate, governance and recent parliamentary elections.
