JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, April 9, 2026 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) is set to host a three-day 'Jahangirnagar Film Festival-26' from April 14
with the slogan "We weave the melody of art in visuals, liberate the soul".
The festival, organised by Bangla Theatre, will be held at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium on the campus and continue till April 16, according to a press
release signed by convener HM Fazle Rabbi today.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan will inaugurate the festival at 11:00 am on the opening day.
Two masterclasses will be arranged for aspiring filmmakers, including a session on direction by filmmaker Mejbaur Rahman Sumon at 11:30 am and another on production by Mohammad Touqir Islam and Delupi Movie Team at 4:00
pm.
On the second day (April 15), film screenings will be held from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm featuring acclaimed full-length films such as 'Satao' by Khandaker
Sumon, 'Jiner Baccha' by Mostafizur Noor Imran and 'Kajolrekha' by Gias Uddin Selim.
Several short films including 'Intezar: Prothom Prohor', 'The Hedge', 'Song from the South', 'The Ballad of a Geek', Intezar: Half to Infinity and 'The
Eternal Journey' will also be screened. A prize-giving ceremony will be held at 9:00 pm.
On the concluding day (April 16), a master class on acting will be conducted by filmmaker Mostafizur Noor Imran at 4:00 pm, followed by an interactive
session titled 'Our Stories'. The festival will end with a closing ceremony at 8:30 pm.
Several organisations including Granthashram, Kabyik School of Arts, Thermocol JU, CLC Film Club, Mayadesh and Noi Prokashon are associated with the event as partner organisations.
