RAJSHAHI, April 5, 2026 (BSS) - A special lecture series was organized by the Institute of English and Other Languages (IEOL) at Rajshahi University (RU).

The second session of the series, titled "Delinking English: Decoloniality vis-à-vis Power & Pedagogy," was held today (Sunday) at the Syed Ismail Hossain Siraji Building.

The session was chaired by the Institute's Director, Professor Masud Akhtar. The keynote paper was presented by Professor Masrur Shahid Hossain from the Department of English at Jahangirnagar University (JU).

Discussants on the presented paper included Professor Md. Sakhawat Hossain of the Department of English at RU, along with Associate Professors Natasha Afrin and Sharmin Akhtar from the Institute.

Faculty members and students from the Department of English at RU, as well as teachers and researchers from other universities, were present at the session.

The session was moderated by Salma Saba, a lecturer at the Institute.
