CHATTOGRAM, April 5, 2026 (BSS) – A Chinese-flagged ship carrying over 34,000 tonnes of diesel from Malaysia has arrived at Chattogram Port’s Dolphin Jetty for unloading.

The vessel docked at Dolphin Jetty No. 6 in Patenga at around 1:00 pm on Sunday, according to Syed Refayet Hamim, Secretary of the Chattogram Port Authority.

Nazrul Islam, managing partner of the local agent Pride Shipping Lines, said the oil tanker Shan Gang Fa Jian reached the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port with 34,000 tonnes of diesel from Malaysia at around 10:00 pm on Friday (April 3). Four lightering operations were carried out to reduce the vessel’s draft before it berthed at the Dolphin Jetty on Sunday afternoon. The remaining diesel is expected to be discharged within two days.

He added that efforts are underway to import fuel oil from new countries to supplement the existing supply.
