PM’s envoy conveys solidarity message to Oman, holds talks

DHAKA, Apr 1, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir has conveyed a letter of solidarity from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarik. 

The adviser handed over the personal letter from the Bangladesh Prime Minister to Sultan through Oman Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, said a foreign minister’s press release here.  

In the letter, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed Bangladesh’s solidarity with the leadership and people of Oman in the context of the current regional situation and conveyed concern over recent attacks and loss of lives and property.

He also appreciated Oman’s continued support in hosting a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates and ensuring their safety and well-being.

The prime minister reiterated Bangladesh’s readiness to extend any necessary assistance, if required.

During the talks, the adviser appreciated Oman’s constructive role in promoting peace, dialogue and diplomacy in the region, including its efforts to facilitate engagement between Iran and the United States.

Both sides reviewed the excellent state of bilateral relations and expressed commitment to further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The adviser is visiting several Gulf countries as the prime minister’s special envoy to convey messages of solidarity and reinforce Bangladesh’s engagement with the region.
