DHAKA, Apr 1, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,330 cases against traffic law violators during a special drive conducted across different areas of the capital.
According to a DMP press release, the drive was carried out on Tuesday in various parts of the city to ensure traffic discipline.
In the Traffic-Ramna Division, a total of 70 cases were filed, including against 9 buses, 2 covered vans, 6 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 22 motorcycles. The Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 128 cases involving 25 buses, 11 trucks, 1 covered van, 11 CNGs, and 54 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the Traffic-Motijheel Division recorded 110 cases, including 10 buses, 2 trucks, 6 covered vans, 26 CNGs, and 40 motorcycles. In the Traffic-Wari Division, 66 cases were filed against 14 buses, 10 trucks, 10 covered vans, 3 CNGs, and 14 motorcycles.
In other divisions, the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 97 cases, while the Traffic-Mirpur Division recorded 216 cases. The Traffic-Uttara Division filed 235 cases, and the Traffic-Gulshan Division registered the highest number with 408 cases.
Additionally, during the drive, a total of 398 vehicles were dumped and 144 vehicles were towed by wreckers.
The DMP stated that such drive will continue across Dhaka metropolitan area to maintain traffic discipline and ensure road safety.
