DHAKA, March 31, 2026 (BSS) - US Ambassador to Dhaka Brent T. Christensen today paid a courtesy call on Minister for Posts and Telecommunication, ICT Division and Science and Technology Faqir Mahbub Anam at his office at the Secretariat.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of further strengthening the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United States, according to a handout.

They discussed various aspects of enhancing mutual cooperation in the fields of information technology, digital connectivity, cybersecurity and telecommunications.

The minister said the current government is working to build a Digital Bangladesh and stressed that cooperation from the United States is crucial in this regard.

He also highlighted the need to increase investment in the information technology sector, along with greater exchange of knowledge and technology.

The ambassador praised the progress of Bangladesh’s IT sector and assured continued cooperation in the future.
Both sides expressed hope of working together on issues of mutual interest.

Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division Abdun Nasser Khan, Economic Officer of the embassy Joe Boskey, and Political Economic Counselor Eric Gillan were present at the meeting.
