DHAKA, March 18, 2026 (BSS) - There is a possibility of rain across the country on Eid day likely to be celebrated on March 21.

“There may be temporary gusty or stormy winds and lightning accompanied by rain or thunder in some places in the country on March 20, 21 and 22,” Meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana told BSS this evening.

She said there may be rain or thundershowers with gusty or stormy winds and lightning in some parts of the country in the next three days. In addition, there is a possibility of scattered rain or thundershowers with gusty or stormy winds and lightning. 

However, the rain may not be continuous like in the monsoon season but intermittent, she added.

“The three-day weather forecast states that gusty or stormy winds and lightning accompanied by rain or thunder may occur in some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and one or two places in Khulna and Barishal divisions,” she quoted weather forecast as saying.

During this period, the temperature of the day and night may decrease or increase.

Meanwhile, the weather forecast for the country's inland river ports till 1 am today has said there may be rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds with a speed of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour from the west-northwest over Rajshahi, Pabna, Kushtia, Jashore, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Cumilla and Sylhet regions.

The river ports in these areas have been asked to hoist the naval warning signal number 2.
