DHAKA, Mar 12, 2026 (BSS)- Launch and steamer services will be introduced on several new river routes from March 17 to ease passenger travel during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to a handout of the Ministry of Shipping, regular vessel operations on the routes will start from that date.

Launch and steamer services will operate on the Shimulia–Demra–Chandpur–Barishal route from the Shimulia Tourist Ghat near Kanchan Bridge, and on the Bosila–Sadarghat–Ilisha–Galachipa route from the Bosila launch terminal in Dhaka.
