DHAKA, March 12, 2026 (BSS) - China today congratulated Hafiz Uddin Ahmed on 
his inauguration as Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS), reaffirming Beijing's 
willingness to deepen parliamentary exchanges and strengthen the 
Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries.

Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress 
(NPC) Zhao Leji conveyed the message in a congratulatory letter sent on March 
12.

In the message, Zhao extended his warm congratulations to Hafiz Uddin Ahmed 
on assuming the office of Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad of Bangladesh.

He noted that China and Bangladesh enjoy a long-standing friendship and have 
maintained close cooperation across various sectors.

Zhao said China stands ready to work with Bangladesh to further advance 
friendly exchanges and cooperation between the National People's Congress of 
China and the Jatiya Sangsad of Bangladesh.

He also expressed hope that such engagement would contribute to promoting the 
Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between China and Bangladesh 
to a higher level.
