DHAKA, March 2, 2026 (BSS) - The Foreign Ministers of Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates today expressed deep sorrow and concern over the tragic death of two Bangladeshi nationals and injuries to seven others amid the ongoing regional crisis.
Kuwaiti foreign minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Bahrain foreign minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and the United Arab Emirates Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan separately telephoned Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman this afternoon, said the foreign ministry in a press release.
During the conversations, they discussed the evolving situation and the safety and security of Bangladeshi expatriates residing in their respective countries.
In the context of the ongoing conflict, the three ministers expressed deep sorrow and concern over the tragic death of two Bangladeshi nationals and injuries to seven others.
They described the recent unprovoked attacks in their countries as unacceptable and reiterated their firm commitment to ensuring the protection of civilians, including foreign nationals.
The ministers assured that all necessary measures are being taken to guarantee the overall safety, security and welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates.
Referring to the long-standing close and brotherly relations between Bangladesh and their respective countries, they said Bangladeshi nationals living there are regarded as residents of their own countries.
They also described Bangladeshi expatriates as hardworking, law-abiding and responsible, and highlighted their significant contributions to the economies of the host nations.
Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman conveyed Bangladesh's appreciation for the assurances and reiterated Dhaka's priority to safeguard its citizens abroad under all circumstances.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi also telephoned the Foreign Minister and discussed issues relating to the safety of Bangladeshi expatriates.
