RAJSHAHI, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) - Six teachers and 30 students of the Faculty of Science at Rajshahi University (RU) have received the Dean’s Award 2025.

The award-giving ceremony was held today (Tuesday) at the Senate Building, where Vice-Chancellor Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib presented the awards to the teachers and students as the chief guest.

The event was chaired by Professor Farid Uddin Khan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic). Professor Mohammad Main Uddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration), was present as a special guest, while Professor Emeritus AKM Azharul Islam of the Department of Physics attended as the guest of honor.

They handed over certificates and prize cheques to the award recipients.

Among others, Dean’s Award–recipient teachers Professor Mohammad Ali Akbar, Professor Md. Golam Hossain, Professor Syed Russell Kabir, and Professor Md. Sakhawat Hossain, along with award-winning students Tausif Imroz Khaledi and Sonali Akter, spoke at the ceremony, sharing their experiences and feelings.

The program began with a welcome speech by Professor Nazrul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Physics.

Among the recipients of the Dean’s Article Award, there was one teacher each from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Department of Population Science and Human Resource Development.

Among the Dean’s Award–recipient teachers, there were two from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and one from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics.

Among the Dean’s Award–recipient students, there were: two from the Department of Population Science and Human Resource Development; three each from the Departments of Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Pharmacy; four each from the Departments of Applied Mathematics and Physical Education and Sports Science; and five from the Department of Chemistry.
 
Congratulating the award-winning teachers and students, the Vice-Chancellor said that behind every achievement there is always the contribution of many people. 

Along with their own merit, the success of the Dean’s Award recipients reflects the contributions of their teachers, families, and many others. 

While the award recognizes their talent, it also honors their teachers and families, and ultimately brings prestige to the university as a whole. 

He expressed hope that the award-winning teachers and students would continue to advance toward greater achievements through the continued practice of their intellect and creativity.
