Govt issues notification fixing Ramadan office timing

DHAKA, Feb 8, 2026 (BSS) - The government has fixed new office timings for all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions in the country for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan of the Hijri 1447.

According to the new schedule, offices will remain open from 9 am to 3:30 pm during the month of Ramadan.

The Ministry of the Public Administration issued a notification to this end today.
The notification said there will be a break for Zuhr prayers from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm every day during the month of Ramadan.  

While, Friday and Saturday will be weekly holidays as usual.

The notification further states that banks, insurance companies, other financial institutions, postal services, railways, hospitals, state-owned industrial institutions, factories and other institutions providing emergency services will determine and follow their own office hours in accordance with their respective laws or rules, considering the public interest.

The office hours of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and all subordinate courts will be determined by the Supreme Court.

This time schedule has been adjusted like every year to continue public services in line with the times of Iftar and Sehri during the month of Ramadan, the notification read.
