DHAKA, Feb 8, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 428,828 postal ballots from expatriates, registered through the "Postal Vote BD" app, have arrived in Bangladesh for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election (JS) and Referendum.
Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the 'OCV-SDI' project on expatriate voter registration, informed BSS of the development today, saying that as of 11:00 am today, a total of 766,862 ballots have been sent to expatriate voters registered through the app.
Of them, 527,450 voters have received their ballots, and 503,441 have already cast their votes, he said.
In addition, 484,765 expatriate voters have submitted their ballots to the post office or postal department in their respective countries, he said, adding that among these, 318,125 ballots have already been received by the returning officers.
Alongside expatriates, the Election Commission (EC) has also begun sending postal ballots to voters within the country (ICPVs).
So far, ballots have been sent to the addresses of 760,898 registered voters inside the country.
According to the EC's latest information, as of 11:00 am today, 443,542 domestic voters have received their ballots. Among them, 388,898 have cast their votes, and 344,826 have submitted their ballots to post offices or mailboxes. Returning officers have received 152,077 ballots so far.
Salim Ahmad Khan also mentioned that a total of 15,33,684 voters, both inside the country and abroad, have registered to vote through postal ballots via the app.
