DHAKA, Feb 06, 2026 (BSS) - The government has issued a notification to recruit 1,490 officers under various cadres from 44th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination-2021.
Senior secretary of Public Administration Ministry Md Ehsanul Haque signed the notification in this regard saying that candidates have been appointed to the entry posts of various cadres of the BCS with the salary range of Taka 22,000-53060/- as per the National Pay Scale, 2015.
The notification stated that he or she will have to undergo basic training at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center or at a government-designated training institution.
It said after completion of the training, the recruited officer will have to receive professional and special training at his or her service related organizations, which is determined by the government.
The notification said he or she will have to work on probation for two years. “If necessary, the government may extend this probationary period not more than two years. If he or she is considered unfit to continue in the service during the probationary period, he or she may be removed from service without any reason and in consultation with the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC),” it said.
As per the notification, the government recruited 244 people as assistant commissioner under the administration cadre, nine as assistant secretary, 48 as assistant superintendent of police, 13 as assistant director/assistant district commandant/battalion deputy commander, 29 as assistant controller general of accounts, 11 as assistant tax commissioner, seven as assistant registrar, seven as traffic superintendent, one as assistant director/information officer/research officer/similar position, six as assistant director (Programme), one as assistant news controller, 18 as assistant postmaster general, six assistant controller, 23 as family planning officer, three as assistant food controller, one assistant executive engineer, 18 in Bangladesh Railway engineering, and other cadres.
Ministry notification said that failing to report on February 9, 2026 will be treated as a refusal of the post, resulting in the immediate cancellation of the appointment.
