DHAKA, Feb 06, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh has secured encouraging business prospects at Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris Spring/Feb 2026, held on 2-4 February, with strong interest from international buyers in Bangladeshi apparel and textile products.

According to information received from the 18 Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)-sponsored Bangladeshi companies, the total value of prospective and confirmed work orders reached US$8.02 million, reflecting the growing global confidence in Bangladesh's ready-made garment (RMG) and textile sector, said a Bangladesh Embassy in Paris press release here.

In addition to securing work orders, the participating companies also reported positive buyer response, productive business meetings, and promising scenarios for future collaborations.

In addition to the EPB-sponsored exhibitors, 11 other Bangladeshi companies participated in the Expo as direct participants. They, too, reported expected engagement with international buyers, fruitful business discussions, and promising potential for follow-up collaboration, further strengthening Bangladesh's presence in the European apparel sourcing market.

Khondker M. Talha, Ambassador of Bangladesh to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, inaugurated the 'Bangladesh Pavilion' on 2 February 2026 at Texworld.

He visited all Bangladeshi booths and spoke with the participants and the expo organizers. He noted that the number of Bangladeshi companies participating could be higher as the world's second-largest RMG exporting country, compared to competitor countries such as China, Vietnam, India and Pakistan.

He emphasized the importance of increasing participation in Texworld and other trade shows in France, such as Première Vision Paris, as greater participation will bring more visibility and engagement.

He added that our participation would enable our exporters to learn about emerging technologies, evolving fashion trends in Europe, and to explore sourcing options for raw materials and accessories, further strengthening Bangladesh's presence in the European market.

He also stated that Bangladesh needed to make the country pavilion and the booths more attractive, like those of competitor countries, by renting larger vacant spaces [instead of low-cost ready-made booths) and creating thematic booth designs and decorations through professional companies.

He highlighted the need for stronger support from trade bodies (BGMEA and BKMEA) through their participation and sponsorship, as well as promoting country branding in a professional manner at international trade fairs and exhibitions for effective participation.

Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris continues to be one of the world's leading sourcing platforms for fashion textiles and apparel, attracting global buyers, brands, and sourcing professionals.

The strong performance of Bangladeshi exhibitors at the Spring/Feb 2026 edition highlights the country's competitiveness in quality manufacturing, compliance standards, sustainability initiatives, and diversified product offerings.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Paris actively facilitated the Bangladeshi participants and their engagement with international stakeholders. The Embassy will continue to work closely with the Ministry of Commerce, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) to enhance Bangladesh's visibility and participation in major international trade fairs and sourcing events in France in the coming days.

The successful outcome of Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris Feb 2026 reaffirms Bangladesh's position as a reliable and competitive sourcing destination for global apparel buyers and highlight the importance of continued participation in international exhibitions/trade fairs to expand export opportunities and market diversification.
