RAJSHAHI, Feb 3, 2026 (BSS) - The Faculty of Fisheries of Rajshahi University (RU) today presented its Dean's Award to meritorious students in recognition of their academic excellence.

The award-giving ceremony was held at the Fisheries Gallery, where Vice-Chancellor Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib attended as the chief guest and handed over the awards to the recipients.

A total of 15 outstanding students were honored for achieving CGPAs between 3.80 and 4.00 in the 2023 BSc in Fisheries (Honours) examinations.

The programme was presided over by the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries, Professor Mostafizur Rahman Mondal. Chairman of the Department of Fisheries Professor ABM Mohsin and Student Advisor Professor Amirul Islam also spoke at the event.

While conferring the awards, the Vice-Chancellor said that recognition plays a vital role in nurturing talent and academic excellence. He noted that the students receiving the Dean's Award have set an example for their juniors and will serve as a source of inspiration.

He expressed hope that the initiative would encourage other faculties to introduce similar awards to recognize outstanding academic performance and wished the award recipients continued success in their future endeavors.
