DHAKA, Feb 02, 2026 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 today set February 17 for passing indictment order in a crimes against humanity case over the killing of college student Imam Hasan Taim in the capital's Jatrabari area during the July Mass Uprising.
The tribunal set the date as defence today argued on discharge petitions filed for the 11 accused in the case.
Earlier on January 28, 2026, the prosecution pleaded for framing charges in the case.
The tribunal on December 24, 2025, took in cognizance of the formal charge filed against 11 accused, including former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman.
Taim, a second-year student of Adamjee Nagar Government College in Narayanganj, was shot at close range on July 20 near the Kajla footbridge under Jatrabari Police Station.
According to the prosecution, police personnel later took Taim to Jatrabari Police Station, where he subsequently died after being subjected to torture.
