RAJSHAHI, Jan 31, 2026 (BSS) - A workshop on cyber threats and digital defense was held today at Rajshahi University (RU).
Organized by the Science and Technology Department of the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU), the workshop took place from 3:00 pm at the Senate Building.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Khan attended the event as the chief guest while Treasurer Professor Matiar Rahman, Acting Registrar Professor Iftikharul Alam Masud, RUCSU Treasurer Professor Md. Setaur Rahman and Administrator of the Public Relations Office Professor Akhtar Hossain Majumder were present as special guests.
At the workshop, Ruhul Amin, a PhD researcher at Marshall University in the United States, and Deputy Police Commissioner of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, Gaziur Rahman presented the keynote papers on cyber threats and digital defense.
Students, researchers and information technology personnel from various departments of the university participated in the workshop.
Held with the cooperation of the RU Science Club, the workshop began with a welcome address by RUCSU Science and Technology Secretary Tofael Ahmed Tofa, while Assistant Science and Technology Secretary Mujahidul Islam Saim conducted the session.
