Prove Bogura is BNP’s stronghold: Tarique Rahman urges locals

BOGURA, Jan 30, 2026 (BSS)-  BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today urged the people of Bogura to prove the fact that Bogura's soil is the stronghold of BNP. 

“Cast your vote for ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ to probe that Bogura is our stronghold,” he said.
 
Tarique Rahman said, "Every time when the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ has got the opportunity to form government, it has worked for the development of the country and the region. Dear residents of Mokamtala, we want to work for the development of your area once again." 

Tarique Rahman made the remarks while addressing a massive roadside rally organized by the local BNP at the Mokamtala bus stand in Shibganj upazila this afternoon.

BNP-nominated paddy sheaf symbol candidate for Bogura-2 (Shibganj) constituency Mir Shah Alam also addressed the rally.

Thousands of party leaders, workers, and common people joined the rally and to catch a glimpse of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman. The entire Mokamtala area reverberated with slogans.

Earlier Tarique Rahman visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Sultan Balkhi Mahisawar (RH) at the historical Mahasthangarh in Shibganj upazila of Bogura.

During the visit he was accompanied by BNP nominee for Bogura-2 constituency Mir Shahe Alam.

On his arrival at Shibganj, thousands of people lined up on both sides of the road to welcome Tarique Rahman with flowers, creating a festive atmosphere in the area.

After completing the shrine visit, Tarique Rahman departed for Rangpur. 

Tarique Rahman distributed wheelchairs among children and adolescents with special needs, an initiative led by BNP Chairman's spouse Dr. Zobaida Rahman at Hotel Naz Garden in Bogura town.
