RAJSHAHI, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - A three-day-long International Conference titled "5th International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering (ICECTE 2026)" is going to be held at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) from Friday.

RUET, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is set to host the international conference to advance research and innovation to address rapidly changing technological challenges of the modern world.

The conference will be held with participation from researchers, teachers, and students from 15 countries, including Bangladesh, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and Malaysia.

Although the formal inauguration of the conference will take place on January 30, various technical sessions involving conference participants will be held on January 29.

A total of 995 research papers were submitted for presentation, of which 335 papers were selected after rigorous review. 

Among them, 286 papers will be presented directly at the conference and later be published in the internationally recognized IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

 
Highlighting the uniqueness of the conference, Professor Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, said that renowned professors from the United States, Australia, and Japan will attend different sessions as keynote speakers.

Important emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Nanotechnology will be discussed. 
    
In addition, special technical workshops will be arranged for students.

The conference is receiving technical co-sponsorship from the IEEE Bangladesh Section. It is also sponsored by several government and autonomous organizations, including the ICT Division of the Government, UGC, and the Bangladesh Computer Council.
