RANGPUR, Jan 26. 2026 (BSS) - A seminar titled ‘Research Methodology’ was held at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) this  afternoon. 

Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali attended the seminar as the chief guest.

In his speech, the chief guest said that the basis of qualitative and standard research is proper research methodology.

"Without a clear understanding of the research method, it is not possible to reach international standards in the research results,'' he said.

He also said that in the current world, there is no alternative to research in building a higher education and knowledge-based society. 

For this, students need to become interested in research and acquire skills in ethics, data analysis and presentation.

The main article was presented at the seminar by Dr Md Ferdous Rahman, Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. 

He discussed in detail about research problem definition, literature review, research design, data collection and analysis methods, and research paper writing techniques.

Students from different departments of the university participated in this seminar organized by the Scholarship Support Office of the university.
