DHAKA, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser
Supradip Chakma today said that Bangladesh's strength lies in its unique
ethnic and religious diversity.
Speaking as a special guest at a discussion organised to celebrate Saraswati
Puja at the Officers' Club on Bailey Road, he emphasized the interim
government's commitment to building a non-discriminatory nation.
Supradip Chakma highlighted the vision of the current administration led by
Nobel Laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
He stated that the government is tirelessly working to create a peace-loving,
truthful, and non-discriminatory new Bangladesh where equal rights are
guaranteed for every citizen.
"We dream of building a country where secularism, good relations among
people, and social cohesion will be maintained," he said, noting that the
government aims to bring about a qualitative change in the nation and create
an environment conducive to peaceful elections.
While extending Saraswati Puja greetings to those present, the Adviser
reminded the audience that the country belongs to everyone and warned that no
individual can harm the nation out of personal whim.
He stressed that a prosperous Bangladesh must be built through united
efforts.
Supradip Chakma praised the existing communal harmony in the country and
noted that the entire region, including India and Nepal, is rich in religious
and cultural diversity.
Primary and Mass Education Adviser Prof Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder attended
as the chief guest while Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain was
also present as a special guest.
The event was presided over by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid.
