TANGAIL, Jan 19, 2026 (BSS) - Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan today said the responsibility for carrying out the referendum campaign is not only the government's job but it is the responsibility of all political parties.

Even so, he said, all members of the Council of Advisers are carrying out the referendum campaign activities in every district of the country.

“From January 22, the referendum campaign will reach the village level. The upcoming election is not like any previous one. This election will give guidance to the nation and will find a new path,” he said.

The energy adviser made the remarks while speaking during the referendum campaign at Shaheed Smriti Municipal Park in Tangail town this morning.

He said the interim government has no party and no candidate. “So, all the candidates are our candidates. The administration has been instructed to conduct the election impartially in a festive mood,” Fouzul Kabir said.

He asked voters not to vote on anyone's advice, instructions and wishes but vote for the candidate of their choice.

“Hopefully, as a result, we will get a representative government, which will not be the master of the people, but will be the representatives of the people,” he said.

The energy adviser said they no longer want the cases of enforced disappearances and murders in the country.

“We have to move away from the rule of one person. We want reform of the state system...and if you want reform and change, if you want to see a good justice system, then you will definitely vote for ‘Yes’ (in referendum),” Fouzul Kabir said.

Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque, Police Superintendent Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar and District Senior Election Officer Taijul Islam were present on the occasion.
