Jamaat holds special executive council meeting

DHAKA, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS) - A special meeting of the central executive council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held today at the party's central office in Moghbazar, with Jamaat Ameer Dr Shafikur Rahman in the chair.

The meeting began at 9:00am and continued until 9:30pm, party sources said. Nayeb-e-Ameer, the Secretary General, Assistant Secretaries General and members of the central executive council attended the meeting.

Several issue-based experts and responsible leaders of Jamaat's Central Women's Division were also present at the meeting.

The meeting discussed various issues related to the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections, including the party's election manifesto, policy paper, installation of CCTV cameras at polling centres, ensuring a level playing field and the overall law and order situation in the country.

The meeting also finalised Jamaat Ameer's nationwide campaign schedule ahead of the elections. As part of the election campaign, the Jamaat Ameer will visit Dhaka on January 22 and tour different districts across the country, including northern regions, on January 23 and 24.
