DHAKA, Jan 13, 2026 (BSS) - The revised draft of the Central University Ordinance is awaiting final approval.

Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education Khalid Mahmud said the revised draft of the Central University Ordinance has been sent to the Ministry of Public Administration today (Tuesday).

A press release issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education said to ensure administrative excellence and meet the reasonable needs of students, this ordinance has been sent to the Ministry of Public Administration by incorporating the decisions of the inter-ministerial meeting.
 
It will be presented to the Council of Advisers for final approval as soon as possible after approval of the Cabinet Division and the vetting of the Legislative Division of the law ministry.

Regular classes have already started for students admitted in the 2024-25 academic year to ensure the continuity of higher education. 

The ministry has sought the cooperation from teachers and students concerned to be professional and patient in order to successfully implement this new structure of higher education.

Along with this, the Secondary and Higher Education Division called upon all to be aware so that the educational life of students is not disrupted by any incomplete information or rumour.
