DHAKA, Jan 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Coppin State University, USA, at the meeting room of the Ministry of Science and Technology at Bangladesh Secretariat here today.
Under the MoU, both parties will work together in several important areas in light of the prevailing laws, regulations and national policies of their respective institutions and the countries.
The areas of cooperation to be developed under the MoU are: joint research and development (R&D) activities in any mutually agreed research field, including biology and physics; exchange of teachers, scientists and other research-related manpower (for training, research and higher education purposes); mutual participation in research projects; and consultancy and
development of programmes based on education and research activities.
Dr Samina Ahmed, chairman of BCSIR, and Professor Dr Jamal Uddin, Director of the Center for Nanotechnology at Coppin State University, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.
Finance Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder was present as the chief guest at the event with Science and Technology Secretary Md Anwar Hossain in the chair.
Officials of BCSIR were also present.
The MoU will remain effective for the next five years. It mentions that the period of this agreement can be extended in the future based on the written consent of both parties.
