DHAKA, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has announced discounts on popular categories of .bd domain services to encourage domain usage in the country.

BTCL sources said the registration and renewal fees of these two widely used categories - .bd Third Level domain (such as abc.com.bd) and .bd Second Level domain (abc.bd) - have been reduced.

A 36 percent discount has been given on the registration and renewal fees of the two most popular categories of BTCL's .bd domain services - .bd Third Level domain: more than 2 (Two) Letters and .bd Second Level domain: more than 2 (Two) Letters. 

As a result, customers will be able to avail .bd domain services at affordable prices, said a press release of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

Updated Pricing (per domain/year)

.bd Third Level Domain (more than 2 characters, such as abc.com.bd):
Registration Fee: Reduced from Taka 1,100 to Taka 700,
Renewal Fee: Reduced from Taka 1,600 to Taka 1,020,

.bd Second Level Domain (more than 2 characters, such as abc.bd ):
Registration Fee: Reduced fromTaka 2,000  to Taka 1,280,
Renewal Fee: Reduced from Taka 2,500 to Taka1,600.

Advantages of .bd Domain:

Compared to .com, .bd domain is easily available, which ensures credibility for Bangladesh-based organisations and individuals. It is more acceptable for government and reputable organizations, while increases professional image and acceptance in the local market. It is relatively safe due to domestic registration policies.

.bd Domain’s conditions:

VAT is applicable at the prescribed rate. Rules as per BTRC guidelines are to be followed and tariff decisions taken by BTCL authorities are applicable.

The offer is valid for a limited time.

BTCL hopes that the discounts will further increase the scope of .bd domain usage at the individual and institutional levels and strengthen the domestic digital ecosystem, the press release said.
