“The next general election will be festive and fair. There is nothing to fear around the polls. Voters will be able to exercise their franchise with their family members in a celebratory environment,” he said.

The adviser made the remarks while inaugurating the South Surma Kadamtali Central Bus Stand in Sylhet.

Stressing that equal opportunities for all political parties have been ensured, Adilur Rahman Khan said the level playing field will remain effective until the election is held.

“This election will be largely peaceful and will set a guideline for the next 100 years,” he added.

He also underscored the importance of voting in favour of the referendum for the July Charter, describing it as a document “written in blood.”

“The democratic process will be further strengthened through the election of representatives from different political parties,” he said.

Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza-Un-Nabi, Sylhet City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Razaie Rafin Sarker and Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwoer Alam were present at the inauguration ceremony.

After opening the terminal, the adviser said it would be leased out to those capable of maintaining it properly to ensure efficient and sustainable management.
