DHAKA, Jan 6, 2026 (BSS) - The Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase today reviewed and recommended several proposals related to public infrastructure and education sector projects.
The approvals came from the first meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase held this year, which took place today at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at the Bangladesh Secretariat, with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.
The committee recommended approval of a construction proposal under the Bangladesh Folk Art and Crafts Foundation at a cost of around Taka 31.88 crore, with MN Huda Construction Limited selected as the responsive bidder.
In addition, the committee recommended approval of a proposal for construction of a six-storied academic circle building at the permanent campus of Bangladesh Maritime University in Chattogram.
The project, placed by the Secondary and Higher Education Division, will be implemented at a cost of around Taka 158.87 crore by a joint venture of The Civil Engineers Limited and Sheltech Engineering Limited.
Besides, the day’s purchase committee also approved cancellation of a tender for constructing a new multi-storied Circuit House building in Dhaka, placed by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
