DHAKA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) - Chief Adviser's Special Envoy on International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi today visited the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) and joined a views-exchange meeting there.

During the visit, he was informed of the ongoing skills development activities of NSDA, initiatives to develop a skilled workforce and of the country's overall skills ecosystem, said an NSDA press release. 

Md. Mahmudul Hossain Khan, Secretary (attached) to the Office of the Chief Adviser, joined it as the special guest with NSDA Executive Chairman (Secretary) Dr Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury in the chair.

Speaking on the occasion, Lutfey Siddiqi underscored the importance of modern, demand-driven, and regularly updated curricula to ensure workforce competitiveness in a rapidly changing global economy. 

He emphasized that strengthening Bangladesh's skills ecosystem requires enhanced international cooperation, greater visibility of skills initiatives, and coordinated engagement among government ministries, departments, private sector stakeholders, and business bodies.

He further highlighted the need for a whole-of-government approach to building a skilled workforce, noting that sustained collaboration and institutional commitment are essential. 

Siddiqi provided strategic guidance on preparing skilled professionals for international labour markets, particularly in countries such as Japan, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. 

He also stressed the importance of private sector participation in assessing market demand and ensuring the supply of skilled workers for both national and overseas employment.

Members, directors, consultants, and officials of NSDA also joined it.
