DHAKA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) - Cherry Blossoms International School and College celebrated its 30th anniversary with a colourful programme on its campus in Mirpur today.
Founded in 1996, the institution is the first English-medium school in the Mirpur area. Renowned educationist, social worker and woman entrepreneur Dr Saleha Kader is the founder principal and chairperson of the institution.
To mark the milestone, the school organised a day-long programme featuring cultural performances, a traditional pitha festival and a prize-giving ceremony, attended by students, guardians and invited guests.
Managing Director of Alok Hospital and Healthcare Limited Md Lokman Hossain attended as the chief guest of the event attended among other by founding principal Dr Saleha Kader while vice principal Dr Afsana Amin.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saleha Kader said the institution had overcome numerous challenges since its inception with the support of the local community and unwavering determination.
"As the first English-medium school in Mirpur, we faced many challenges, but with the support of the local community and our determination, we overcame them all. Today, with 30 years of experience, I feel proud of how far we have come," she said.
Vice Principal Dr Afsana Amin also expressed pride in the institution's journey, saying the anniversary marked three decades of commitment to quality education.
Abdullah Al Mamun Liton, regional development manager of Pearson Edexcel; Shahin Reza, country director of Oxford & AQA, Tanvir H Romen, business development manager of Learning Resource Network, Sarwat Reza, country head of Cambridge Board, UK, Nakib Haider, business development manager of Cambridge Board, UK, and Syed Fahim Faisal of British Council, Bangladesh were present among others.
