DHAKA, Jan 05, 2026 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) traffic divisions has filed a total of 2,366 cases against violation of traffic laws in one day on January 4.
“The DMP campaign against traffic rule violations in the city aims to bring traffic system under proper management,” said a DMP statement issued by its spokesman Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
It said 338 motor vehicles were dumped and 203 vehicles were wrecked during the campaign yesterday, adding several units of the traffic divisions conducted the drives.
DMP’s Wari traffic division filed the highest 602 cases, Motijheel traffic division 310 cases, Tejgaon division 254 cases, Mirpur division 399 cases, Gulshan traffic division registered 169 cases, Uttara division filed 321 cases,
Ramna division 132 cases and Lalbagh division 179 cases.
Drive against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on the streets of Dhaka.
