KHULNA, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Maksud Helali today said administrative efficiency, transparency and discipline are crucial for steering a university towards achieving its goals.

"The role of officers is extremely important and indispensable for the overall development and smooth management of a university. Through administrative efficiency, transparency and discipline, a university can move forward towards achieving its goals," he said.

The VC made the remarks when the newly elected executive committee of the KUET Officers' Association paid a courtesy call on him and exchanged greetings at his office.

He expressed the hope that the new executive committee would discharge their responsibilities with professionalism, honesty and dedication, and work in close coordination with the university administration.

The courtesy meeting marked the formal interaction between the university administration and the Officers' Association's executive committee for the 2026 term.

The delegation was led by the newly elected President Md Moinul Haque and General Secretary Md Golam Kibria, along with other members of the committee.

During the meeting, the association leaders assured the vice-chancellor of their full cooperation in strengthening administrative activities, enhancing the professional skills of officers and building an efficient, accountable and service-oriented administrative system.

Dr Helali also expressed optimism that the committee would play an effective role in transforming KUET into a modern, research-oriented and world-class educational institution through continued collaboration with the administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Officers' Association President Md Moinul Haque said the association has always worked constructively to protect the legitimate rights and welfare of officers while contributing to the overall development of the university.

"A well-organised and responsible administrative environment is essential for improving the quality of education. With this objective, we will continue to work as a supportive force for the administration," he added.

Among others, Vice-President S M Saifur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Md Rabiul Islam, Sports, Literary and Cultural Secretary Md Helal Fakir, Legal Affairs Secretary M M Rabiul Islam Shubho, and members Md Mostafizur Rahman and Sadek Hossain Pramanik were present at the meeting.
