The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Golam Mortuza Mozumder, passed the order after the defence concluded its arguments around noon.

The notices were published the following day, but the accused remained absent, prompting the tribunal to appoint state defence counsel.

The prosecution on May 25 submitted the formal charge against the eight accused. It was the maiden formal charge filed at the ICT in cases lodged over the July–August mass uprising.
