'Hate-Hat' app will put forward 'Digital Bangladesh' progress: Speaker

   DHAKA, Dec 19, 2021 (BSS) - Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today said there is no alternative to digital technology for inclusive development while the newly launched 'Hate-Hat' app would play a vital role to put the 'Digital Bangladesh' progress forward.

   "The digital platform can bring all stakeholders, including the women community, under a single umbrella. 'Hate-Hat' app can contribute in this regard, connecting all to the digital platform," she said.

   Dr Shirin made the remarks while virtually addressing the launching ceremony of the 'Hate-Hat' app developed by the SBK Foundation, said a press release here.

   Noting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build a developed and prosperous 'Digital Bangladesh', she said it has been possible to keep daily activities normal through the use of digital technology during the Covid-19 pandemic.

  State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Under Secretary of the United Nations (UN) Courtenay Rattray addressed the function as special guests with SBK Founder and Chairman Sonia Bashir Kabir in the chair.

  Policy Advisor of the a2i Anir Chowdhury spoke at the virtual event as the guest speaker while Director of TMCD University of Oxford Xiaolan Fu presented the keynote paper in the function.
