DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) - Jatra performances titled 'Mayer Chokhe Jol' and 'Lalon Fakir' will be staged tomorrow (Friday) at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

'Sangeet Opera' from Sahapara in Magura, will stage the jatra 'Mayer Chokhe Jol' at the Academy's Experimental Theatre Hall at 3:00 pm. The jatra has been scripted by Ranjan Debnath, and directed by Sujay Saha. 

Late in the evening at 6:30 pm, 'Bangashree Opera' from Gandaria in Dhaka will stage the jatra 'Lalon Fakir'. The script has been written by Devendranath, and the production has been directed by Kabir Khan.

Meanwhile, as part of the month-long jatra performance series marking the month of Victory, the jatra 'Nihoto Golap' was staged today at the Shilpakala Academy.

Organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and managed by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the jatra festival began on December 1 with the participation of registered jatra troupes from different parts of the country. The performances will continue until December 31, every day from 6:30 pm.
