DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) – Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmin S. Murshid said that Joyeeta is set to resume its activities with a fresh new look, and its clothes, handicrafts, and other creations are expected to reach global markets one day.
“Joyeeta Foundation is playing an important role in women’s economic empowerment and entrepreneurship development,” she said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Joyeeta Bijoy Mela 2025 at the Joyeeta Foundation Building in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
She added that positive changes occur in families and society as a whole when women step forward as entrepreneurs. Joyeeta Bijoy Mela serves as a powerful platform to recognize the creativity, hard work, and achievements of women, she said.
Emphasizing the importance of strengthening women’s training, market linkages, and financial inclusion, the Adviser said the government has undertaken initiatives and provided policy support for women’s empowerment.
She expressed hope that support for women entrepreneurs in skill development, product branding, and marketing will continue through the Joyeeta Foundation.
Regarding the Victory Day celebrations, the Adviser said that the great ‘Victory Day’ was observed with joy across all districts and upazilas of the country during the interim government.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry Mamtaz Ahmed said that once the full programme of Joyeeta is completed by the Public Works Department, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to showcase their domestic products year-round. She added that entrepreneurs from various regions were very pleased to participate in today’s fair.
Later, they visited different stalls at the fair.
The fair will be open to the public from December 18 to December 20, from 10 am to 8 pm.
