DHAKA, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - Outgoing Ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh
Park Young-sik paid a farewell call on Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin at
his office at Bangladesh Secretariat here this afternoon.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues relating to the further
strengthening of bilateral trade relations and expansion of investment
between Bangladesh and South Korea.
The Commerce Adviser congratulated Ambassador Park on the successful
completion of his tenure and expressed sincere gratitude to the South Korean
government for its continued support and cooperation with Bangladesh, said a
Commerce Ministry press release.
He said the relationship between Bangladesh and South Korea is friendly and
multi-dimensional. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, both countries
have been moving forward on the basis of mutual trade cooperation and
development, he added.
The Commerce Adviser expressed optimism that the bilateral relationship would
become even more dynamic in the future through enhanced trade and increased
investment.
Ambassador Park said that Korea-Bangladesh relations are founded on mutual
trust, strong economic cooperation, and a shared vision for global peace and
prosperity.
He noted that Korean investment in Bangladesh's manufacturing and
infrastructure sectors has been steadily increasing, while bilateral trade
volume has also been growing significantly over time.
The outgoing envoy expressed his gratitude to the Bangladesh government for
the overall cooperation extended to him during his tenure in the country.
Additional Secretary (Export) of the Ministry of Commerce Md Abdur Rahim
Khan, Additional Secretary (FTA) Ayesha Akhter, and First Secretary of the
Korean Embassy Lee Nam Soo were present at the meeting.
